Berlins Bruisers invite us into their Changing Room

As QUEERGURU is going through this whole BERLIN phase right now then this is the perfect time to hang out with the Berlin Bruisers, the first inclusive gay rugby team formed in 2012 that plays in the Regionalliga Nordost League, Germany’s 3rd tier rugby union league.

They were visited recently by photographer Adrian Lourie for MEAT the quarterly gay magazine that he launched in 2010,  Meat loves to celebrates body positivity by showcasing sexy guys of all shapes and sizes.  No better a place to find them than the Bruisers changing room in Berlin

As Club president Leighton Cheal explains “We didn’t hesitate when we were approached to take part in this special edition of MEAT as we feel the values of body positivity and showcasing real guys ‘as they are’ are absolutely shared by us and by the rugby community in general. We also think it is important to recognise that sex and sexuality are not separate. Often as GBTQ+ men we are often asked to ‘sanitise’ ourselves to make people feel more comfortable. We don’t think we need to hide in that way.”

Meat The Berlin Bruisers features 25 of the 60+ strong team’s membership in candid locker room shots.
