Openly gay Tony Award Winner actor Ben Platt is possibly the sexiest gay Broadway star for years. The star of Dear Evan Hansen has just released his video, directed by close friend Nick Lieberman, of the first song of his debut album that is due to be issued next month.
In this lilting emotional ballard ‘Ease My Mind’ he pours his heart out to his boyfriend played by hunky co-star Charlie Carver and the pair do make an adorable couple.
The album explores Platt’s romantic life over 12 songs he co-wrote that depict “a roller coaster of a relationship that is an amalgam of the ones I’ve had,” he says. It has given Platt, who came out as gay when he was 12 years old, his “first opportunity to represent my relationships and the men that I’ve loved,” he says. “I only wanted to take this leap if I was going to present every part of myself.”
