Ben Cohen, the former English rugby player is probably the nicest LGBTQ ally we ever have had the pleasure to meet. It doesn’t actually hurt that also is the hottest-looking one too. When he retired from the English Team he became a full-time activist and founded The Ben Cohen StandUp Foundation to combat homophobia and bullying.
We met him in 2015 in Provincetown when he took part in Kheils Lifetime 7 an annual motorcycle ride that follows a different route every year. all the while supporting AMfar raising awareness of HIV research, testing, and finding a cure.
It was on that occasion he explained how his Foundation is the world’s first foundation dedicated to raising awareness of the long-term, damaging effects of bullying by connecting communities and raising funds to support those doing real-world work to eradicate bullying. He started it after his father had been murdered trying to help someone been beaten up.
He is probably the only straight ally who had been happy enough to visit PTown Bear Week and allow them to auction off his underwear. And to our knowledge, he is the only straight athlete that has been inducted into the National Gay and Lesbian Sports Hall of Fame.
The reason that Ben has come back on our radar again is that he has his own Calendar which you know you will want. There is a limited run of 1000 prints and every single cent will help the Foundation to continue to support over 43 charities and organisations
