Award-winning queer TV writer/producer Russell T Davies has TWO new shows on Brit TV

While most Queerguru readers will know Brit writer-producer Russell T Davies for such wonderful award-winning queer TV programs such as Queer as Folk and  It’s A Sin , he has also been the creative talent behind the cult Dr Who TV Series.  His new project, which is being broadcast by the BBC in the UK TODAY, ‘The War Between the Land and the Sea‘  is also a science fiction television miniseries, and is starring one of his (and ours) favorite actors, Russell Tovey.  Incidentally Tovey’s latest film Plain Clothes is still playing in theaters

In the series,  the UNIT  a Brit military organisation, must take action to prevent a global war once an ancient species, the Sea Devils, comes out from the sea, revealing itself to humanity.  With Tovey cast as Barclay Pierre-Dupont, a member of UNIT, and transportation arranger, will they succeed?   Well, if you don’t live in the UK you can still always check out on BBC1 Player IF you have a VPN  (otherwise, wait until 2026 to see it on Disney in the US)

Continuing his prolific output Davies is also  currentky filmng another new Tv series TIP TOE.  Starring Alan Cumming currently on a career high after winning an Emmy for Traitors and also David Morrissey the star  of Sgerwooid.  They play  Leo and Clive, who have lived next door to each other in Manchester UK  for almost 15 years. Just as life should be settling down, the world around them is growing more tense. Davies has  described Tip Toe as a cross between his cult Channel 4 drama Queer as Folk, which was also set in Manchester, and dystopian BBC series Years and Years.  We are waiting with bated breath to see the first trailer as  Davies  said last month it is the strongest thing I’ve written.
