Twenty four years after she first starred in the Sunset Boulevard, first in L.A. then on Broadway where she won a Tony Award for her performance as Norma Desmond, Glen Close is back in a new revival of the show.
This new production originated in London last year when the English National Opera (ENO) presented a five-week ‘semi-staged’ run at the London Coliseum. Glenn Close reprised her role as Norma, making her West End debut, collecting rave reviews and winning her the Evening Standard Award for Performance in a Musical. Now that the production will transfer to Broadway at the Palace Theatre for a limited engagement, starting in on February 2nd 2017 with Close playing Norma, directed by Lonny Price. The production will last 16 weeks and feature a 40-piece orchestra, the largest in Broadway history.
It’s just like we never said goodbye.
