Anne Hathaway Goes Gay : starring in a EILEEN a new psychological thriller in movie theaters December 1st

You may not remember but also starring in the gay classic film Brokeback Mountain alongside  Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal was a young Anne Hathaway making her adult film debut.  Fast forward and after a Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Primetime Emmy Award, she is about to star in a gay thriller.  And wait for it…. she gets to  seduce New Zealand actress Thomasin McKenzie

Set in 1960s New England, Mckenzie plays Eileen Dunlop a peculiar young woman who works as a secretary in the Boston-based prison. There, she escapes the emotionally haunted home of her father but is ostracised by her fellow colleagues.

However, when an intoxicating and glamorous Harvard-educated counselor named Rebecca (Hathaway) shows up and helps her discover new parts of her personality, Eileen’s misery seems to subside. Although their electric chemistry and sexual tension may sound like a recipe for success, in this nail-biting story, dark secrets loom and descend the pair into chaos.

This psychological thriller directed by William Oldroyd, the film is based on the 2015 book of the same name from author Ottessa Moshfegh.  It won some great reviews when it premiered at Sundance with raves for Hathaway calling it her sexist turn in years.  We will not have to long to see for ourselves as Neon is releasing the film on December 1st
