All Gay Men (especially the marrying kind) should avoid ALL hotels in the Marriott Group at all costs

;

It wasn’t too long ago that the website www//queeradventurers.com praised  Marriott Hotel chain as  being a trailblazer in LGBTQ+ inclusivity for decades. They were the first hotel group to introduce same-sex domestic partner benefits back in 1999—fifteen years before same-sex marriage was allowed in all 50 states.  But now they own Sheraton Hotels, and all that has changed. They have just discriminated against a gay couple who held their wedding at Sheraton Buganvilias in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Jeremy Alexander and Ryan Sheepwash went public after discovering they had been quoted significantly higher prices for their wedding than a heterosexual couple booking the same dates and services at the Resort. Screenshots later surfaced, showing the same resort representative who had provided Jeremy and Ryan their quote, referencing a “company policy” that prohibited same-sex weddings on-site.

A representative from Marriott International, the parent company of Sheraton, later acknowledged during a recorded call with the couple that they were aware of this issue. However, to date, the company has not confirmed with the couple whether any corrective action or policy review has been taken in response.

The clamor has crescendoed because because of Marriot’s duplicity with their CEO Anthony Capuano, claiming the Company’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, saying:We welcome all to our hotels, and we create opportunities for all — and fundamentally, those will never change.”  His remarks undeservedly earned widespread praise, but Jeremy and Ryan noted that their experience reveals a disconnect between Marriott’s stated DEI values and the actions demonstrated at the property level of this franchised location. In contrast, Hilton Hotels came to the couples rescue, and  immediate ressured the couple’s wedding could move forward without delay.

We’re overjoyed to be moving forward with our wedding and truly grateful to Hilton for stepping up in such a meaningful way,” said Jeremy and Ryan, expressing their deep appreciation for Hilton’s leadership and swift, compassionate response, describing it as “a model of genuine allyship and corporate responsibility in action.”.

As a community we simply cannot allow such discrimination and hypocrisy  to go uncheck and continue to exsist : and we should collectively all fight back by AVOID STAYING IN ANY HOTEL IN THE MARRIOT CHAIN  (See full list here)
