A sneak peak at Wes Anderson’s ISLE OF DOGS

Fox Searchlight has just released a clip of Wes Anderson’s highly anticipated new stop-motion movie ISLE OF DOGS.  Set in a dystopian future Japan, where dogs have all been quarantined on a remote island because of a “canine flu”, Isle of Dogs follows the adventures of five local dogs — Chief, Rex, Boss, Duke and King — when their isolated existence is interrupted by the arrival of a boy named Atari, who ventured to the island to find his dog.

The totally charming clip sees two rival groups of dogs locked in a brutal fight for scraps of moldy food. One loses an ear, it’s pretty traumatic actually because, despite the fact it sounds like a paradise, Isle of Dogs has a fairly apocalyptic premise.

Aside from Edward Norton’s character, Rex, who we hear speaking in the clip, the film boasts a seriously impressive cast including Bryan Cranston, Bill Murray, Jeff Goldblum, Greta Gerwig, Frances McDormand, Scarlett Johansson, Yoko Ono, Harvey Keitel and Tilda Swinton, to name just a few.

Isle of Dogs will be released in US cinemas on 23 March, with an international release scheduled for April.
