Over the next three nights Dance Now! one of the leading contemporary dance companies in Miami will be performing Lacrymosa, a 30 minute ballet created by the late Edward Stierle in 1987 when was a mere 19 years old. Stierle was a principal dancer with prestigious Joffrey Ballet and at that time he was already infected with the HIV virus, and would die of AIDS just four years later at just 23 years old.  This powerful piece choreographed by such a young soul touches on the topics of AIDS, death and living life with no regrets, and in a way was also a tribute to Robert Joffrey the troupe’s founder who also died of AIDS in 1988.

Here then to give a taste of what Lacrymosa is about is  a video of the Fort Wayne Ballet Company in rehearsal of the ballet with two of the original cast members of the Joffrey Ballet Kim Sagami and Adam Sklute .
