The First: a queer love story that may be doomed from the start

Feeling like a touch of queer romance this weeked without leaving the comfort of your own home (even if you could)?  Then grab a box of Kleenex and head over to You Tube to watch THE FIRST.

Created by  writer/director Tim Zientek this is the story of two gay men in love, and each episode is how they experience a ‘first’ in their relationship.  They make for such a cute couple who fall head over heels for each other, but they have to face one obstacle that stops this being real perfection for the pair.

Both men are ‘bottoms’. As we know this is a scenario that can become a major sticking point in so many gay relationships, and suddenly ‘happy ever after’ starts to look rocky.

Credit to Zientek for the way he, and his two very talented actors Charles-Curtis Sanders and Will Branske imbue the scenario with such compassion and tenderness.  No histrionics or melodrama but a very authentic telling of a tale that so many of us have confronted, and often with not such a fine sense of humor and compassion
