Is it our imagination or is the Peacock Channel positioning itself to have the best queer content on TV today? Well having the re-booted Russell T Davies’ iconic award-winning QUEER AS FOLK will most certainly boost their case.
The new show is based on the American version of the show (which was inspired by the original ground-breaking British version) that debuted back in 2000.
The storyline will be set in New Orleans and we can see from the trailer below how creator Stephen Dunn has conceptualized it in a modern context with a Pulse-like attack at the fictional Babylon nightclub. He has also a very queer (and queer-centric) cast that stars Jesse James Keitel, Johnny Sibilly, Fin Argus, Devin Way, CG, and Ryan O’Connell, with Juliette Lewis, KIm Cattrall, Lukas Gage, and Nyle DiMarco all appearing in recurring roles as well.
Peacock’s Queer As Folk , with Russell T. Davies as Executive Producer, premieres June 9.
