Arriving on US screens (and in Canada too) this month is the latest comedy export from Down Under. Metro Sexual is a fast and furious low brow Australian sitcom TV web series that gets its laugh from an incessant stream of potty mouthed humor about body parts in distress .
Set in Metropolitan Sexual Health clinic with a cast of all LGBTIQ lead characters, this hilarious mockumentary pokes fun at the (serious) fact that more people nowadays are catching sexually transmitted infections than ever before. Its yet another thing we have to thank dating apps for.
Each of the 10 min comedy episodes follows the lives of doctors Stephanie Huddleston (Geraldine Hickey a well known Stand Up comic in Australia) and Langdon Marsh (queer actor or co-creator Riley Nottingham).
Producer Nicholas Kraak said: “From day one we’ve wanted to use Metro Sexual to start a conversation about sexual health. Humdrum Comedy is thrilled to be making this bitesize series with big laughs and an even bigger heart.”
Metro Sexual premiered in the U.S. on Sept. 1 on the free streaming service Crackle, and on Canada’s OUTtvGo and OUTtv’s Apple TV from the same date. It will then play on Prime Channels in Canada.
