Everybody’s favorite out-gay actress Kristen Stewart won over our hearts …… and nominations for an Academy Award, Golden Globe, and Critics Pick Award for her portrayal of Diana, Princess of Wales in Pablo Larraín‘s biopic Spencer.
Two years later she is back in a totally different role in the sexy and dark lesbian thriller Love Lies Bleeding which has been selected to premiere at The Sundance Film Festival next January. Its an electric new love story directed by Rose Glass with reclusive gym manager Lou (Stewart) falls hard for Jackie (Katy M. O’Brian), an ambitious bodybuilder headed through town to Vegas in pursuit of her dream. But their love ignites violence, pulling them deep into the web of Lou’s criminal family.
The trailer (below) is intense and full of muscles, lesbianism, crime, dead bodies, and mullet! Dave Franco co-stars and Ed Harris also shows up, playing Lou’s father, a crime lord with a creepy haircut who loves guns and causing trouble.
Will this be another award winner for Stewart?
