How To Survive A Pandemic

Oscar-nominated queer writer/filmmaker DAVID FRANCE  (“How to Survive a Plague“, “The Death and Life of Marsha P. Johnson” and “Welcome to Chechnya” has just released his new doc “How to Survive a Pandemic“.  It’s a sort of semi-sequel to his  very first film but this time instead of AIDS France has turned his attention to Covid 19 from its earliest days to the present.

France, as always, never sugarcoats the pandemic in any way and covers not just the day-to-day events as they unfurled, but also tackles the bizarre politicization, especially with Trump doing his very best to confuse us all with his usual tranch of lies.

The film doesn’t always make for easy watching but France does an excellent job with his very rational detailed account of how the pandemic ravaged the whole world, and it serves as a very pertinent reminder that Covid is far from over for any and all of us.

How to Survive a Pandemic premiered
on HBO Max on March 29th
