The Pride Month is almost over, so we need to make the best of it as soon as possible! Perhaps you haven’t been very active this month, or you have been swamped with work, but that needs to change in the last days of June. So, in order to do that the right way, you need to pay attention to your appearance. Why is June different than any other month? Well because it’s Pride Month, and the gays are keeping their eyes more open than usual. And if you want to be noticed, you need to put a little bit more of an effort into the game. This is how you can step up your game:
Focus on the trends
The way to a gay man’s heart is through trends. We don’t want to generalize, but come on. You know it’s true. Anyhow, what you need to do is google around certain fashion trends of today and start rocking them out. Unless you have been living under a rock, then you know that one of the most important trends of today is minimalism meets crazy colors, so if you want to be bold and be noticed, you can always opt for good monochromatic pieces that you will enrich by wearing a statement piece, such as pants or a shirt. You can always go online and find some examples that will motivate you to create your own outfit. Other trends include animal print (but you need to know how to pull it off though), neon colors and colorful shoes.
Street style
Speaking of street style, there is a huge trend that you simply need to embrace. It’s called athleisure and it’s actually a mixture of formal and sports clothes. These combinations look crazy good, so if you want to be one of the cool kids, make sure to bring your formal pants and pair them up with a logo mania shirt and good sneakers. However, you can also opt for some amazing hoodies for men that will look amazing under a blazer or on top of an elegant pair of trousers. The temperatures might get a bit lower, so it’s always good to have a look planned out in case you need something with long sleeves. Check out these awesome Aussie hoodies for example! Pairing up formal and sports clothes is always great.
Innovative on parades
Next up, let’s talk about the actual parades. There might be several that you attend before the month ends, and it’s important to know how to present yourself there. First, try to think about what you want – you can be very on point, dressed in denim shorts and a cool tee or buttoned-down shirt looking sexy as hell, or you can be very bold and dress up in leather. This is your choice, but whatever you do make sure to know the dos and the don’ts of wearing for the Pride Parade. You don’t want to come dressed up in leather or latex from head to toe if it’s warm – you will melt!
Dapper in the night
As far as the night is concerned, this June marks the 50th Stonewall anniversary, so there is going to be a plethora of parties and brunches. So, if you want to attend any party that’s not a rave party, then you might want to look very dapper. This is an amazing look for dinner and cocktail parties, or simply going somewhere where the dress code is a bit more formal. What can you do? Have a good shirt and good accessories. For example, you cannot look dapper without a good watch, so this is probably the first thing that you want to have. Next up, focus on how the clothes look on you – make sure they are tailored perfectly and you’re good to go.
Trim your beard
A tip that’s not connected to actual fashion per se, but it’s still important in determining your final outlook. If you’re a beardman, make sure that you trim your beard before you go out. There is nothing worse than a beard that doesn’t look it’s taken care of. Even though the chances of you paying attention to your beard are high (you wouldn’t be growing a beard without taking care of it, right?), it’s still important to mention it.
June is an important month. You are not only paying tribute to all the gay people in the world and celebrating the gay life, but you are also paying tribute to yourself, a proud member of that community. Heads up, wear anything with confidence, and you will do excellent.
