Paul Rice a queer Irish creative director forsook his comfortable life in SF to take a journey on the Trans-Siberian Railway across Russia to see for himself what life is really like for the LGBTQ Community He even talked his Welsh bf Liam Jackson Montgomery into joining him.

The result is his very first feature film, a powerful documentary A Worm in the Heart that is about to have its World Premiere next week at Santa Barbara International Film Festival and so QUEERGURU caught up him for an exclusive interview in advance of the Event.

Cherrie Me & HIV : the uplifting story of Matthew Cavan, Drag Queen & Activist

When actor Matthew Cavan was diagnosed with HIV+ 10 years ago he felt totally isolated. He lives in Northern Ireland, a conservative and religious province of the UK which was way behind in its acceptance of the LGBTQ community let alone those with HIV.

Supported by his close family + friends Cavan created Cherrie On Top as his drag queen alter ego to give him confidence and made two documentaries on his life’s journey filled with such positivity and now he talks with QUEERGURU about the joy of being regarded as role mole for the community
