This latest queer movie from Chilean filmmaker Alberto Fuguet takes a very fine line between sexual fantasy and actual pornography .
It’s the story of young Hector (Gerardo Torres Rodríguez) who leaves his rural him in Hermosillo for the bright lights of Mexico City where he has hopes of being chosen to pose naked for a Feral a photography collective.
By leaving his friends behind Hector is determined to enjoy a life he has always dreamed of, so without any pre-set limits he is going to agree to take part in any sexual opportunity that comes his way. He’s arrived in the city a couple of days early ahead of his appointment so takes a room at the sleazy Riviera Hotel where the only house rule is that you must keep your bedroom door wide open.
It encourages the voyeur in Hector to come out and when he is not spending most of the time spying on other people having sex, he is either pleasuring himself or letting others pleasure him.
With lots of full-frontal nudity and explicit sex this film. evidently based on a couple of real like experiences, has just enough eroticism to save itself., although for most viewers it will still be watched as just yet another piece of pornography
