Posted on Categories queerguru.tvLabels ,

1This documentary is the story of Bindle and Keep a small tailoring company in New York who are part of whole new growing breed of clothiers who cater specifically for the transgender community.  It is a joyful tale of how having the opportunity to having non-gender specific custom-made clothing so impacts peoples lives. Directed by newbie filmmaker Jason Benjamin and produced by Lena Dunham, it is one of several transgender movies showing in Provincetown Film Festival.

Suited is one of queerguru’s Top Picks for #PIFF16 and this is our review for PTV .

Life Animated, the award winning documentary, is unquestionably one of the most inspirational movies of the year. It is the story of Owen Suskind, a young man who was unable to speak as a child until he and his family discovered a unique way to communicate by immersing themselves in the world of classic Disney animated film. Directed by Roger Ross Williams, it tracks how the extraordinary Suskind family came together and helped Owen evolve into an amazing independent young man.

Producers Julie Goldman & Chris Clements talk to queerguru aka Roger Walker-Dack for P.T.V. about their movie.

Filmed at Frederick Studio, Provincetown by Judy Rolfe

TICKLED title card

queerguru reviews TICKLED a new documentary from David Farrier a New Zealand TV Journalist who thought he was just going to be doing a lighthearted film about was the quite innocent looking world of competitive endurance tickling. Instead what he discovered was a sinister conspiracy to stop him investigating an incredible international web of deceit and illegal practices that turned into an absolute nightmare scenario.  This totally bizarre, and often very scary story makes for very compelling viewing.

Uncle Howard @ #PIFF16

Posted on Categories queerguru.tvLabels ,

1Filmmaker Aaron Brookner set off to find the lost negatives of Howard Brookner’s 1983 definitive documentary of William S Burroughs. and in the course of his investigations discovered so much more about this dynamic and influential queer filmmaker who died of AIDS in 1989 aged 34 years who was also his Uncle Howard.  This compelling documentary was one of the best LGBT movies to surface at the Sundance Film Festival and is now one of our TOP PICKS playing at the Provincetown Film Festival.

Here as part of the coverage of PIFF16 that queerguru is doing on behalf of Provincetown TV (PTV) is both our review of UNCLE HOWARD and part of an interview we had with Aaron Brookner via Skype.
